EXCLUSIVE EXPERIENCE – THE SOMADADA PLATFORM

Camp Silwane is delighted to offer a truly unique experience. A secluded and stunning waterhole fringed by tall trees and overlooking open grassland. This water hole is much frequented by wildlife and is truly a treasured gem in Silwane. Here you can sleep on top of the platform and enjoy the sights and sounds of the African bush.

The stunning teak platform is spacious with an enclosed flush toilet and basin on the platform. An open air shower provides a unique experience for the exclusive visitor.

Guests can choose the option of being fully catered for and have a comfortable bed provided under a mosquito net for a special ‘Out of Africa’ experience. You will likely see elephants come to drink at sundown and hear them come throughout the evening. If you are able to keep watch at night you may spot the resident leopard passing through for a quick drink. You will be fully immersed in nature at Somadada.

Alternatively, guests can camp at Somadada on a self-catering basis. A camp hand is available to assist at the discretion of the guest.

Guests booked for Somadada Platform have exclusive use of the platform without the intrusion of other visitors. Sleeping on top of a platform by a waterhole in the African Bush is an experience some can only dream about.

"I will never forget the magical night spent on Somadada platform. We watched herds of elephants come to drink throughout the evening and in the moonlight we saw the moving shapes of elephants in the surrounding grasslands. Hearing the elephants all around us pulling up grass and drinking from the waterhole was so incredible. Where else can I say you can shower in the open whilst looking down at elephants all around you? Later in the still of the night, lying in bed watching the brilliant night sky we heard the magnificent roars of lions.
